The Providence God

Definition of Providence: 

God working in human history to fulfill His will. 

1. God intervenes b/c He is faithful to His Word! 

- vs. 1 / Jeremiah 29:10-14 / Isaiah 44:28-45:7 

2. God’s will supersedes man’s will! 

- vs. 1 / Isaiah 45:4-6 / John 6:60-65 

3. God reveals His plan of redemption! 

- vs. 2-4 / Micah 5:2 / Luke 2:8-14 / Romans 3:21-22 

4. God provides the motivation to follow Him! 

- vs 5 / Isaiah 40:31 / Philippians 4:13 

5. God provides the resources to obey Him! 

- vs 6-11 / Ephesians 2:8-10 / Romans 8:32

Application: 

If it all starts with God, then our first step on the path is passionate prayer! 

- “Jesus, I need to be saved from my sin!”

- “Jesus, I need hope again!”

- “Jesus for this person, I need your peace / plan / power!”
